Dr. Timothy Dewhirst, a marketing professor in U of G’s Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, contributed a commentary to the Toronto Star discussing the decision parents of children born in 2010 will face once a COVID-19 vaccine for children under 12 becomes available.
With a pediatric version of the COVID-19 vaccination expected to be available this year, Dewhirst said parents of 11-year-olds may have to decide to wait a month or two until their child is old enough to qualify for the full dosage given to those aged 12 and over, or give their child the pediatric version. He said government vaccine campaigns should prepare for this and be responsive.
Dewhirst was also interviewed by 570 News on the topic.
