Dr. Maya Goldenberg, a philosophy professor in the College of Arts who researches vaccine hesitancy and the philosophy of science, appeared on CBC Radio’s Ideas.
The episode began with a feature interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Goldenberg was then asked to discuss the current “crisis of trust” in science that has fed disinformation during the pandemic.
Goldenberg, who researches the roots of why some people become wary of science, is the author of Vaccine Hesitancy: Public Trust, Expertise, and the War on Science.
