Dr. Philip Loring

Dr. Philip Loring, the Arrell Chair in Food, Policy and Society, spoke to The Globe and Mail about Indigenous-led agriculture, a form of knowledge that the article says is lacking in the national discourse around climate change mitigation.

Loring noted that food systems that focus on meeting specific needs of local conditions will be the ones most resilient and adaptable to climate change.

A broadly trained ecological anthropologist, Loring’s research is concerned with food security and sovereignty, community sustainability and environmental change.
