Dr. Mark Lipton, a professor in the School of English and Theatre Studies, spoke to Global News about whether it’s safe to rely on Wikipedia for factual information.

Given that research suggests that only one percent of users of the online encyclopedia write or edit entries, and 90 per cent of those contributors are men, Lipton commented that “Wikipedia may still reinforce older systems of prejudice and systemic racism.”

Among other areas, Lipton researches the scholarship of teaching and learning in a digital media age.
