Prof. Madhur Anand’s new memoir is entitled This Red Line Goes Straight to Your Heart

CBC Radio’s The Next Chapter featured an interview with Dr. Madhur Anand, professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, about her memoir, This Red Line Goes Straight to Your Heart.

This Red Line tells the stories of Anand’s parents and their tale of immigration after the partition of Pakistan from India, as well as how their experiences affected their daughter. The book has two covers: read one way, the story is told from the perspective of Anand’s parents; turn it upside down and it’s the voice of the daughter of immigrants.

The author of the poetry collection A New Index for Predicting Catastrophes, Anand is also director of the Guelph Institute for Environmental Research and a researcher with the Food from Thought program.
