The University of Guelph has begun the process of selecting our next provost and vice-president (academic). Consultation with the University community is an important part of this process.

Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members are invited to complete a questionnaire on the qualities and experience desirable in our next provost and vice-president (academic) as well as priorities for the role. Questionnaire responses are requested by December 16, 2020. Complete the questionnaire online.

Laverne Smith & Associates have been retained to conduct the search. All questionnaire responses will be held in strict confidence by the Laverne Smith & Associates. Anonymous responses are permitted.

Former provost Charlotte Yates was appointed as president and vice-chancellor of the University for an interim two-year term and has made the decision not to return to her former role when that term ends. Since Aug. 2, Gwen Chapman, dean of the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, has served as interim provost and VP academic.
