U of G’s Shine: Mental Well-being Awareness Week runs Mar. 9 to 15. The week promotes mental wellness and provides students with resources to help support their mental well-being.

“When we are mentally healthy, we are able to enjoy life and the people within it,” says Alison Burnett, Director of Student Wellness. “We are able to learn and try new things and are able to better cope with the challenges that arise.”

Burnett emphasizes the important of breaking down stigma. “Discussing mental health is as important now as ever,” she says. “We need to continue to create opportunities and space for people to come together to talk about their mental well-being.”

The week’s events are designed to help support student mental health and include:

  • resource fair
  • workshops
  • physical activities

See the full event listing on the Student Wellness website.

All Shine: Mental Well-being Awareness Week events are free. All students, staff and faculty are encouraged to attend. Post a picture on social media at one of these events with hashtag #WeSHINE and you could win a $25 Hospitality Services gift card.
