Prof. Stephen Henighan

Prof. Stephen Henighan, a professor in U of G’s School of Languages and Literatures, contributed a commentary to The Globe and Mail about what it’s like to become a father in one’s 50s.

Henighan writes that while there are many downsides of being an older-than-most dad, the benefits include the realization that time is finite and life’s pleasures should not be deferred.

A novelist, short story writer, he teaches 20th- and 21st-century Spanish-American literature and culture. His most recent book is Blue River and Red Earth.
