Professor emeritus Len Ritter

Professor emeritus Len Ritter was interviewed by Western Producer about a declaration by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup herbicide, is not a carcinogen.

Ritter said that in his 42-year career, he has never seen the EPA take such a clear stance on a chemical. He said he agreed with the EPA assessment, noting it matches the scientific consensus.

A retired professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, Ritter studies pesticides and chronic human diseases. A Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences, he received a medal from the World Health Organization in 2006 for his research on food additives.
