A memorandum of understanding signed March 28 between the University of Guelph and Chungbuk National University (CNU) in South Korea will enable Chungbuk students to enrol in English Language Programs (ELP) at U of G.

“International partnerships improve the overall experience of internationalism on campus and in the greater Guelph community,” explains Julian Inglis, ELP business development and program manager. “We are hopeful that this collaboration will lead to greater opportunities between these two institutions in the future.”

Similar to U of G, Chungbuk National University began as an agricultural college before becoming a nationally recognized university.

“During my visit to Chungbuk University last fall, I recognized the strong potential for a collaboration between our two universities,” says Inglis. “We are pleased to return their hospitality and host president Su-Kab Kim, Dr. Jae-Hoon Hwang and the rest of the Chungbuk delegation.”

The MOU was signed by CNU president Su-Kab Kim and Charlotte Yates, U of G’s provost and vice-president (academic).

The University of Guelph will welcome the inaugural cohort of Chungbuk students in fall 2019.
