U of G’s 2018 United Way campaign was one for the record books, raising the largest amount ever for the University’s annual campaign.
When the final numbers were tallied, the University had raised $657,337. That total also earned U of G the title of Campaign of the Year (Large Public Sector) from United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin. Your generosity was crucial to that success.
“Once again the University of Guelph United Way volunteers and supporters have shown their tremendous generosity and commitment to improving life in our community,” says campaign faculty co-chair Carolyn Kerr.
This is the tenth time that U of G has raised more than $500,000 for the regional United Way campaign.
New campaign co-chairs announced
As planning for the next campaign gets underway, the University announced the new staff co-chair for 2019. Jill Ferguson, manager of career development in Co-operative Education and Career Services joins Kerr to head up the campaign.
“I am thrilled to be joining Carolyn as the staff co-chair this year,” says Ferguson. “I have been involved in the United Way on campus for a number of years, but look forward to this challenge and working with all the dedicated volunteers in a new capacity.”
The 2019 campaign’s student co-chairs are English major Amia Khosla and Parnit Sachdeva, biomedical sciences.
“The reason I applied to be a student co-chair for the United Way is because I value the impact United Way has on our community and would like to continue the great work that has been done on campus, to further help the community,” says Sachdeva.
Thank you for supporting your local United Way and making a difference in our community.
