Prof. Mike Dixon spoke to CBC News on Dec. 25 for a story about how space technology is being used to grow vegetables indoors for high-end restaurants.
Dixon, a professor in U of G’s School of Environmental Sciences, talked about how the Canadian technology could also be used to address Northern food security.
Director of U of G’s Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility, Dixon studies the application of ozone technologies in food production, nutrient management and recycling in controlled environments, and strategies for sustainable and life support for human space exploration.
