Prof. Mike Dixon appeared on CBC’s The Nature of Things on Nov. 28 in a segment about scientific innovation that will enable humans to survive on Mars.
A professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, Dixon discussed his research and innovation for growing food on Mars. The segment highlighted his work on Space and Advanced Life Support Agriculture, essentially a large box for growing plants using hydroponics.
Dixon studies space exploration, biological life support and plant environment interaction. He is director of the Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility at U of G.
