Brenda Whiteside, who recently retired as associate vice-president (student affairs), will return to the University of Guelph as interim assistant vice-president (diversity and human rights). A comprehensive search to fill the position permanently will begin in the new year.
Whiteside retired last fall after a 35-year career with U of G, including 18 years as associate vice-president (student affairs). She was known for her devotion to students and the University and for her exceptional leadership skills.
She first arrived at the University as an undergraduate student in 1978. She will begin her new interim role Jan. 7.
Jane Ngobia left the position of assistant vice-president (diversity and human rights) recently to become special adviser to the president at Sheridan College.
“We thank Jane for all the work she has done across the University of Guelph campuses and wish her all the best in her new endeavours,” said U of G president Franco Vaccarino.
The Office of Diversity and Human Rights helps promote a campus environment free of discrimination and harassment.
