Prof. Myrna Dawson is featured in a Dec. 6 FLARE magazine article highlighting Canadians who are fighting gender-based violence.
The article explains how Dawson, director of the Centre for the Study of Social and Legal Responses to Violence at U of G, has been documenting femicide in Ontario for the past 25 years. It also talked about how she established the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability to collect data related to gender-based killings of girls and women.
Dawson is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at U of G. She studies gender-based violence and femicide and examines the social and legal responses to gender-based violence crimes.
