Following the announcement of the closure of the General Motors plant in Oshawa, Ont., Charlotte Yates, provost and vice-president (academic) at U of G, has been offering expert commentary in the national news media.

A political scientist and principal investigator at the Automotive Policy Research Centre, Yates has discussed the impact of the plant closure on workers, the wider automotive industry and possible government interventions.
