Prof. Bruce McAdams was interviewed for a Nov. 29 National Post article about tipping in Canada’s service industry.
A professor in School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, McAdams has studied and published data on tipping practices in Canada and how it impacts the restaurant industry. He told the National Post that when tips are accounted for, the average Canadian server makes about $30 per hour and talked about how Canadian server wages stack up against U.S. ones.
McAdams research interests include sustainability in the food service industry, and tipping and its social and economic effects on restaurants and the hospitality industry.
