Prof. Ze’ev Gedalof was interviewed for a Nov. 15 Global News story talking about what can be done to prevent disastrous wildfires in California.

A professor in U of G’s Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics, Gedalof talked about how development has played a role in the damage caused by the California wildfires. He also said that while lots of people want to live close to nature, they don’t always want to live with the consequences of that decision or take measures to protect themselves, such as fireproofing their home.

Gedalof researches problems related to forest ecosystem dynamics, climatic variability, and natural resources management.
