A University of Guelph professor was invited to share his expertise with the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry on Nov. 8. at 8 a.m.
The committee discussed how the value-added food sector can become more competitive in global markets.
Prof. Evan Fraser, Canada Research Chair in Global Food Security at U of G, shared his expertise with the committee. He studies climate change, food security, food prices and rural agricultural policy.
He was joined by Sylvain Charlebois, professor in food distribution and policy at Dalhousie University.
Director of the Arrell Food Institute, Fraser’s research has been featured recently in the international press, including the The Globe and Mail, The Independent and the Huffington Post.
