A Sept. Toronto Star story about cannabis PhD programs featured recent U of G grad Deron Caplan and Prof. Youbin Zheng.
Caplan, who recently earned his PhD in cannabis production at U of G, discussed what attracted him to study the topic and why he believes it’s an important area of research.
Prof. Youbin Zheng, who supervised his research in the School of Environmental Sciences, said Caplan might be the first North American to complete a doctoral degree in the topic.
Caplan studied basic horticultural elements of cannabis production, which had been largely improvised before legalization, the article states.
Zheng’s research includes medical cannabis production.
