The College of Business and Economics (CBE) has appointed Norm O’Reilly as assistant dean of executive programs.

“The combination of our University’s strong varsity athletics, our excellent business programs and the strategic hiring of Professor O’Reilly gives the college a unique opportunity to develop as a global leader in sports management,” said CBE dean Julia Christensen Hughes.

Recognized as a leading scholar in the business of sports, O’Reilly previously chaired the Department of Sports Administration at Ohio University’s College of Business. During his tenure, the university’s programs were consistently ranked among the best in the world, according to Sports Business International magazine.

“I am thrilled to join the University of Guelph’s College of Business and Economics and have the opportunity to help grow their highly successful MBA and master of leadership programs,” said O’Reilly. “The University’s close proximity to one of North America’s major sports entertainment cities means we have an exciting opportunity to build the college’s sport business programming and research.”
