A commentary on how to deal with the current dairy supply management debate between the U.S. and Canada by Prof. Tirtha Dhar was featured in the Globe and Mail.
Dhar argues that Canadians should propose a fully competitive market without tariffs or government regulations on either side. He says although this may seem like an impractical starting point, this position would change the underlying narratives within the U.S. and among President Donald Trump’s supporters.
Dhar is a professor in the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies in U of G’s College of Business and Economics. He studies agribusiness marketing and policies in the U.S. and Canada.
