Physical Resources will conduct its annual campus electrical shutdown April 28, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Select buildings on campus will be without power during the shutdown.

What WILL be affected

A full list of buildings included in the shutdown is at the end of this article. The shutdown will turn off:

  • Heating
  • Ventilation
  • Air conditioning
  • Hot water in sinks
  • Hot water for safety showers and emergency eye wash stations (cold water will be available)
  • Elevators (will be locked out of service)

Critical systems requiring chilled water cooling will be switched to domestic water backup.

What WON’T be affected

The shutdown will not affect:

  • Essential and emergency power
  • Essential and emergency lighting
  • Alarms (fire alarms and security alarms)
  • E-access doors

No other maintenance or construction activity will be permitted in the affected buildings during this shutdown.

Access to affected buildings should be restricted, other than for security reasons.
