Prof. Jeffrey WichtelProf. Jeffrey Wichtel appeared in a Mar. 6 CBC News story about the shortage of veterinarians in Ontario.

Wichtel, dean of the Ontario Veterinary College, said demand for vets in Ontario has tripled in the last two years. He said vet shortages used to be common in rural areas, but now there’s demand in urban areas as well because of more pet owners, particularly millennials.

Wichtel studies animal nutrition, reproduction and disease, livestock production and veterinary education.
