As our Class of 2018 prepares for finals and the adventures that lie ahead, we have one last tradition to help send its members on their way.War Memorial Hall

Join us for the 2018 Last Lecture, an opportunity for graduating students to come together and reflect on their experiences at U of G.

On April 5, one graduating student, one faculty member and one member of the alumni family will deliver a final address to our graduates.

It’s an event not to be missed.

April 5
5:45-7 p.m.
War Memorial Hall

Student lecturer: Aidan Paskinov, BA ’18

Leadership comes naturally to Aidan Paskinov. Starting early on Interhall Council, he played an integral role in student government throughout his time at U of G.

He represented arts students on the College of Arts Student Union. His love of the U of G community led him to roles with the Central Student Association, including serving on committees and helping with O-Week.

Paskinov is honoured to have been selected as his class’s last lecturer and hopes he can make the Class of 2018 proud

Faculty lecturer: Prof. Matt Demers, Department of Mathematics and Statistics

Prof. Demers addresses our grads as this year’s faculty lecturer. Not that long ago, he was a U of G graduate himself. Inspiration from now retired Prof. Jack Weiner drew Demers to focus on mathematics during his undergrad years.

As a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Demers was voted by engineering students as Faculty Member of the Year for five years running.

He has also received the Distinguished Professor Award for Innovation in Teaching from the University of Guelph Faculty Association.

Alumni lecturer: Kim Parlee, B. Comm. ’92

As if being vice-president at TD Wealth Management weren’t accomplishment enough, Kim Parlee, a U of G grad and our alumni lecturer, is also a familiar face on the Business News Network. She hosts MoneyTalk, one of Canada’s premier finance shows.

Parlee has a long history of helping people understand money and the markets and what’s happening in the world of finance.

All members of the University of Guelph community are invited to attend this send-off for our graduating students.
