Political science professor Leah Levac appeared in a Feb. 2 Toronto Star article about female elected officials in Toronto who say they face sexual harassment on the job.
Levac talked about the deeper cultural challenge of gender inequality in cases of sexual harassment of women in the workplace. She said that when constituents harass city councillors, for example, it’s a display of power and dominance.
