While campus is quiet during winter break, Physical Resources has two annual events scheduled. Normal business operations will also be reduced from Dec. 22 to Jan. 2.

Ventilation setback

The annual winter ventilation setback is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. on Dec. 22 to 7 a.m. on Jan. 2. The ventilation in many areas will be reduced or turned off, as is the usual case overnight and on weekends. Heating will be maintained in all buildings, but will be turned down in some buildings which will be vacant for the holidays. Animal holding areas will be maintained as usual.

24-hour road closure

The University campus will close access to roadways leading onto campus property for a 24-hour period beginning one minute after midnight on Dec. 25 (00:01 – 23:59, Dec. 25). This closure, recommended by our legal counsel, takes place annually and is in place to protect future plans of the University. Anyone working on campus for University business may access the closed sections as normal. Members of the public using the roadways during the closure period may be challenged by Campus Community Police.
