Prof. Mike von Massow was interviewed live on the CBC news program On the Money Tuesday. He discussed a new World Health Organization (WHO) report that calls for reducing antibiotic use in healthy food animals because of the rise of drug-resistant superbugs.

A professor in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics, von Massow talked about common public misconceptions on this issue. He pointed out that Canada already meets WHO’s recommendations (scroll to 7:00 in the video to see the interview). Von Massow was interviewed by Global News Nov. 7 for a story on food prices in Canada. At U of G, he studies food value chains, food pricing and revenue management.
