Nikki Martyn, head of the early childhood studies program at the University of Guelph-Humber, was featured on Global News Oct. 11. The segment focused on Guelph-Humber’s new “learning lab,” which provides students with alternative approaches to teaching and learning, such as technology, content sharing and physical movement.

Martyn, who joined Guelph-Humber in 2015, founded a therapeutic school offering individual learning programs for children. She studies issues affecting vulnerable populations, including children in need of psychiatric services. Martyn is an expert in attachment, brain and social-emotional development, and prevention and early intervention strategies.
