Chérine Stevula

A University of Guelph graduate student has been awarded a fellowship from the faculty association representing Ontario college and university professors.

Chérine Stevula, an MA student in Latin American and Caribbean studies and international development, was selected by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) for the 2016 Henry Mandelbaum Graduate Fellowship for master’s students. She will receive $2,500.

The fellowship honours Mandelbaum, former OCUFA executive director.

Stevula studies learning of Hispanic youth to make Canadian classrooms more inclusive and effective. She serves as a mentor for immigrant and employment services at the local YMCA.
