Campus flags will be at half-mast Feb. 16 to mark Saturday memorial services for a U of G staff member and a professor.

Helen Coates, a technician in Biomedical Sciences, died Feb. 6.  A visitation will be held Feb. 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. Eulogies will be presented at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Guelph General Hospital or the Community Environmental Leadership Program.

The lowering of the flags also honours sociology professor Kerry Preibisch, who died Jan. 28.

A celebration of Preibisch’s life is taking place Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church, 210 Silvercreek Parkway N., Guelph. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to a scholarship to be established at the University in Preibisch’s name.
