The University of Guelph will mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, and commemorate the anniversary of the Ecole Polytechnique massacre in Montreal.

Campus flags will be lowered to half-mast on Dec. 6, and a special event will take place on Dec. 7.

A service will be held beginning at 1:45 p.m. on Monday in the atrium of the Thornbrough Building, proceeding to the Memorial Cactus Garden. The garden, located on the second floor of the engineering building, is a memorial for the 14 women who were killed at École Polytechnique on Dec. 6, 1989.
