A University of Guelph economics and finance professor will take part in a panel discussion Oct. 28 on the pricing of drugs for cancer treatments.

Brian Ferguson will be one of five speakers discussing new approaches to drug pricing. The event will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto.

The event coincides with the release of a white paper called “Changing the Way We Think About Drug Prices: Insights” by Novartis Oncology Canada,  the University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation, and the Canadian Centre for Health Economics.

Ferguson teaches and studies mathematical economics, health economics and social welfare.
