Construction to widen Stone Road East between Gordon Street and Village Green Drive will begin in June 2015 and is expected to continue into next spring.
The project will include construction of four lanes of traffic, two bike lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, improved intersections and street lighting, storm sewers and water mains.
The anticipated timeline is as follows:
– June to August 2015: construction of south-side lanes
– August to September 2015: construction of north-side lanes
– Fall 2015 to Spring 2016: relocation of utilities
– Spring 2016: completion of curbs and gutters along with lane paving, sidewalk installation and landscaping
One lane of traffic will remain open in both directions, but it may be necessary to close the road to one lane, requiring a flag person or temporary traffic light to direct vehicles.
