The University of Guelph won one gold, three silver, one bronze and one honorable mention  in the 2014 Council of Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District II annual Accolades Awards program.

The University community won gold in the Individual Events category for its Conversat – Reviving a Guelph Tradition. The judges commented: “Guelph submitted an extraordinary package…They not only engaged alumni and students, but had excellent community involvement. Their excellent use of themes, social media and individual outreach to their target audiences put them over the top.”

The Ontario Veterinary College took silver in the same events category for its Pet Trust Gala.

In a new category called Best Practices in Fundraising, the Department of Alumni Affairs and Development won silver for Live, Laugh, Learn, Listen … Leave, a Presidential Transition Strategy. Admission Services also won a silver award for its #wherewillGryphshowupnext social media campaign.

A bronze award was earned in the Alumni and Fundraising Feature category by the University of Guelph Alumni Association for the video Cheers to your Foolish Years, and Alumni Affairs and Development received honorable mention in the Excellence in Photography category for a Facebook photo series  called The University of Guelph by Night. The Accolades Awards program celebrates institutional accomplishments in the areas of print, multimedia, marketing, communications, events and program development. The competition is open to post-secondary institutions in Canada, the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
