Seventy-two donors won incentive prizes during the first weeks of this year’s University-wide United Way fundraising drive, and four grand prizes will be drawn at campaign closing Dec. 5.

Everyone who turns in a pledge form by Dec. 5 will be included in the grand prize draw – including the incentive prize winners – says prize co-ordinator Mary Visser Kerr, executive assistant to the associate vice-president, research (strategic partnerships).

Grand prizes to be drawn are:

  • A $500 RRSP donated by TD Canada Trust,
  • A one-year parking pass from U of G Parking Services,
  • Free tuition for a U of G continuing education course, and
  • One day’s use of a modern meeting space at Staples on Stone Road.

Pledge forms can be downloaded from the United Way website; donations can be made by payroll deduction, cash, cheque or credit card.

The website also provides a list of 2014 incentive prizes and winners. Visser Kerr reminds all winners to pick up their prizes before Dec. 5 from United Way volunteer Sharon Cardow in the Presidential Suite, University Centre, Level 4; unclaimed prizes will be redrawn at the United Way closing luncheon.

“Thank you to everyone on campus and in the community who provided incentive prizes,” says Visser Kerr. “Your gifts to the University’s United Way campaign are very much appreciated by the steering committee, all our volunteer fundraisers and, of course, the lucky prize winners.”
