The University of Guelph Research Magazine received a silver award from the Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation (CFWF) for the 2013 issue “What the World Needs Now.” The award was presented Oct. 4 at the CFWF annual conference in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Former SPARK writers Samantha Beattie, BA ’13, and Katharine Tuerke, MA ’08 and PhD ’13, were project co-ordinators for the winning issue, which highlights the breadth of global activities involving U of G researchers.

CFWF represents represents English-speaking agricultural journalists, broadcasters and communicators across Canada.
