The University of Guelph has lowered its flags to commemorate the tragic events that occurred in Quebec and Ottawa this week in which two Canadian military members were killed.

U of G’s flags will be at half-mast until sundown on Saturday, Nov. 1,  in conjunction with flags being lowered at government buildings and establishments, including the Peace Tower in Ottawa.

The University would like to remind its community members that counselling services are always available to assist students and employees, including during times of national and global distress.

The following services are available on campus:

Student Counselling Services, Ext. 53244

Employee Assistance Program for faculty and staff, 1.800.265.8310

Multi-Faith Resource Team, Ext. 52390
