Trevor DeVries, a professor in the Department of Animal and Poultry Science based at the Kemptville Campus, was awarded the Lallemand Animal Nutrition Award at the annual American Dairy Science Association meeting in Kansas City July 22.

The award recognizes exceptional research in dairy nutrition by a scientist during the first 10 years of his or her career.

DeVries teaches and researches in the areas of dairy production, nutrition, behaviour and welfare. Specifically, he studies the effects of feed management and housing on behavioral patterns and risk of illness in dairy cows.
