Profs. Serge Desmarais and Ann Wilson will begin serving as acting provost and vice-president (academic) and acting associate vice-president (academic), respectively, on Aug. 1.

Desmarais was named to the position in May following the announcement that Maureen Mancuso will complete her term as provost and vice-president (academic) July 31 after 11 years in office.

Wilson was appointed acting AVPA this week. Both were chosen by president Alastair Summerlee before he completed his term June 30.

Desmarais was named AVPA in 2007 and reappointed in 2012. Previously, he was acting chair in the Department of Psychology and acting dean of the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences.

Wilson is associate dean (academic) in the College of Arts and a professor in the School of English and Theatre Studies. She served as interim associate dean of arts in 2008 and helped develop and co-ordinate the bachelor of arts and science program.
