Master’s students Jessica Kelly and Johanna Wilkes, Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (FARE), won top honours in the research poster competition at the annual Canadian Agri-Food Policy Conference in Ottawa  Jan. 29 to 31. The conference theme was “Policies and Regulations for a Thriving Canadian Agri-Food System.”

Kelly received first prize for her poster “Canadian Food Dollar: Breakdown Between the Farm Share and Marketing Bill.” Her advisor is Prof. Alfons Weersink.

Wilkes won second prize for her poster “What’s Trade Got To Do With it?: Exploring the Impact of Direct Transfer Food Aid on Sub-Saharan African Agricultural Producers and Agricultural Trade.” Prof. Rakhal Sarker is her advisor.
