An interview with Justice Minister Peter MacKay conducted by U of G political science and criminal justice and public policy student Samuel Mosonyi is making headlines this week. The interview was published today in the Prince Arthur Herald (Mosonyi is a columnist for the paper) and then reported on in the Toronto Star.

In the interview, Mackay talks about the government’s position and rationale on a number of initiatives, including the Supreme Court’s Bedford decision on prostitution, a cyberbullying awareness initiative, mandatory victim surcharges, and the proposed Not Criminally Responsible Reform Act.

Mosonyi is a student senator and former chair of the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences Student Alliance.
