If you haven’t returned your United Way pledge card, you might want to check out the list of incentive prizes being won weekly by those who have.

United Way volunteer Paula Allen says about 65 incentive prizes were donated this year by local businesses and members of the U of G community; 45 have already been won by those who returned pledge cards early in the United Way campaign.

Clarke Mathany’s pledge form was the first one drawn on Oct. 4. Mathany supervises student peer helpers leading the Supported Learning Groups in the U of G library and is an assistant volleyball coach for the men’s varsity team. He’s also the lucky winner of a $200 gift basket donated by Johnson and Johnson.

All pledge forms received by Oct. 23 will be eligible for the final weekly draw on Oct. 25. Just download a pledge form from the United Way website and return it to Revenue Control, UC 4.

Pledge forms received any time before Dec. 4 will be included in the grand prize draw on Dec. 6. Grand prizes include a $500 gift certificate donated by Stone Road Mall, a $500 RRSP given by TD Canada Trust, and a one-year parking pass from U of G Parking Services.

University employees, students and retirees can all enter, says Allen, who is executive assistant to the vice-president (finance, administration and risk). Pledge forms can be used for donations made by payroll deduction, cash, cheque or credit card.
