Remodelling of the University Centre (UC) atrium, which began last summer, should be completed by mid-May, according to a memo from project manager Shane Denis, Department of Physical Resources.
Put on hold when classes started last September, the atrium project resumes April 29. Outstanding work includes:
* Perforated metal screens installed over the white acoustical panels;
* Lighting within the metal screens;
* Final cleaning to remove construction dust from window/door ledges and other areas.
To facilitate this work, physical resources will fence areas inside the atrium to accommodate lifts. Access into and throughout the atrium upper level will be available, with signage in place to direct people around the construction. All other areas of the UC will be fully accessible.
