Business professor Jamie Gruman is co-author of a research paper named by the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences (CJAS) as its “most downloaded paper” in 2012.

The paper is entitled “Organizational Socialization and Positive Organizational Behaviour: Implications for Theory, Research and Practice.” It advocates a shift in research and practice on organizational socialization towards more positive organizational behavior when integrating newcomers into an organization or company.

Gruman wrote the paper with Alan Saks from the University of Toronto; it was downloaded 1,717 times in 2012, according to CJAS editor Vishwanath Baba.

Gruman, who joined U of G’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2006, completed his doctoral internship at Jackson Leadership Systems, a consulting firm specializing in leadership assessment and development. His research has been covered by media outlets around the globe. He has also consulted and delivered seminars for Fortune 500 corporations, public, and not-for-profit agencies that include General Motors, the Canadian government and the Children’s Wish Foundation.

He was featured in The Portico magazine in fall 2012.
