Ken McEwan, research co-ordinator at the University of Guelph – Ridgetown Campus, will serve as interim director effective Jan. 1. Art Schaafsma completes his five-year term as Ridgetown director at the end of the year.

A search will be held for a new director.

During his term as senior administrator of the campus, Schaafsma led a number of successful initiatives while maintaining his research as a professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture.

Following an administrative leave through August 2012, Schaafsma will return to his faculty position in the Ontario Agricultural College and will assume a leadership position with Ridgetown’s Centre for Agricultural Renewable Energy and Sustainability.
