The University of Guelph invites faculty and staff to participate in fall convocation ceremonies on Saturday, Oct. 15. Volunteers from both academic and non-academic units across campus are needed to join the academic procession or serve as ushers, handing out name cards and hoods.

The University has received many compliments from graduates and families who appreciated the large number of faculty and staff attending the June convocation ceremonies, says Claire Alexander, special projects manager for the Office of the President. “We would like to duplicate that experience for those graduating in October.”

She notes that ceremonies will be approximately 45 minutes long. The schedule is as follows:

9 a.m.

College of Biological Science

College of Physical and Engineering Science

Ontario Agricultural College

Honorary Degree Recipient – Justice Dennis O’Connor

11:30 a.m.

College of Social and Applied Human Sciences

2 p.m.

Graduate Studies

Honorary Degree Recipient – Dr. Marian Horzinek

4:30 p.m.

College of Arts

College of Management and Economics

7 p.m.

Graduate Studies
