A U of G professor has been named to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) National Expert Advisory Committee. Sylvain Charlebois, associate dean of research and graduate studies in the College of Management and Economics, is among seven people across Canada named to the committee.

The group will provide CFIA with objective professional and technical advice on key issues related to food, animal health and plants.

Charlebois is an award-winning researcher and teacher, and an expert on global food systems. He studies food distribution and safety and has published two books and numerous articles. He is currently writing a third book on global food safety systems.
