The cost of parking on campus is increasing. Commuting permits will go up by 15 per cent to $508 a year, or to about $42 a month. Premium and service vehicle parking rates will increase three per cent to $734 and $619 a year respectively.

The rate increases were approved at the April 20 Board of Governors’ meeting as part of the Parking Services and Transportation Planning budget.

Residence students pay 75 per cent of the commuting permit rates. Reduced rates will continue to be offered in parking lot P18 on Dundas Lane and in the car pooling lots of P31 and P26.

Even with the increase, U of G continues to have one of the lowest commuting parking rates in Ontario.
