As part of the 2010 Speakers of Renown series to mark the 40th anniversary of the International Development Research Centre, population medicine professor David Waltner-Toews will speak on “Ecohealth in a Complex World: Policy’s Holy Grail?” Nov. 24 at the IDRC in Ottawa.

Founding president of Veterinarians Without Borders and the Network for Ecosustainability and Health, Waltner-Toews studies emerging diseases, ecohealth and epidemiology, and has taught and studied in Africa, Latin America and Asia. He recently received the inaugural award for outstanding contributions to the field of ecohealth from the International Association for Ecology and Health.
